Styled: Saint Laurent Studded Boots

It seems like everyone in the world has these Saint Laurent studded boots. Well, anyone whose style I’m inspired by has them. Sure, if I could justify spending almost 2,000 on a pair of shoes, they would also be in my closet. Since I can’t, I currently have a stylish knock off pair that was given to me for Christmas. I’m not actually sure why I’m even sharing my boot envy with the world. I’m very appreciative of the gift version, don’t misunderstand. That said, since this is a blog where I get to have both style envy and live a very fashionable existence on virtual paper, I decided to style the actual Saint Laurent boots of my dreams. Both outfits are things I would actually or have actually worn recently with my own boots.

What I love most about the boots is the edginess they give a simple outfit. It almost feels like ‘yeah, I could definitely punch someone in the face,’ only I can’t. But the illusion is enough, isn’t it?

New Years Eve Party Style

So there’s less than 24 hours until New Years Eve and I have some last minute styling ideas for pretty much any celebration. Sure, it’s a bit last minute and it’s impossible to order these things (maybe technology can work on that), but that won’t stop the inspiration. I’ve styled 3 looks one with a dress (my favorite), one with pants, and one with a playsuit. I have even paired each look with one polish from Essie’s winter collection just to tie everything together.

This is my favorite look of the bunch, and I’m not even really a dress person. They just don’t look right with my hips. That said, I would trade in my joggers and jumper for this outfit for any outing tomorrow in a heartbeat. It contains many non-budget friendly items, but again, it’s my dream look so I went big with this one.

Markus Lupfer dress, Kurt Geiger heels, Saint Laurent Sac de Jour, Eddie Borgo ring, Marc Jacobs safety pin bracelet, Burberry leather jacket

Pair with: Tuck in My Tux

This is a more relaxed but sparkly look. I would also combine this with a nice peacoat to keep warm. I absolutely love the sparkly top from Topshop despite it being rather out of my comfort zone. Yes, I featured the Eddie Borgo ring & Marc Jacobs bracelet again with this look but simply because I just love them both so much and they seemed to fit well with the color of the Aldo heels.

Topshop sparkle top, Topshop high rise skinny jeans, ALDO heels, Eddie Borgo ring, Marc Jacobs safety pin bracelet, Zara handbag

Pair with: Double Breasted Jacket

What? A playsuit in winter? Well, yes. If I was attending say a houseparty or dining at a restaurant or, dare I say, going to a nightclub, I might choose a playsuit over a dress. It’s probably not the greatest idea for say…the Mill Avenue block party or hanging out in Times Square. To get more warmth I might suggest some black tights (or exchange this for a longer less flattering long playsuit)
and a white jacket/blazer. The shoes are the real stunner of this look and even then tights may draw more attention to them.

New Look playsuit, Topshop heels, Saint Laurent clutch, H&M silver necklace

Pair with: Jiggle Hi Jiggle Low which seems to no longer be available online so check in stores.

Tuesday Ten: Fall Essentials

When I began this blog a couple years ago I used to do a Tuesday Ten. Tuesday Ten usually was just a list of 10 random things and, honestly, at this moment in time I can’t recall a single thing I ever wrote about. Actually, that’s probably for the best. But today the Tuesday Ten is back and better than it ever was! Try to contain your excitement because today we are talking about my fall wardrobe essentials.

By now any reader of this trusty blog knows my style is fairly simple and classic so it’s no surprise these fall essentials are as well. I finally made the plunge and bought the Sam & Libby boots featured here and I am obsessed with them. Are they booties? Boots? Who knows. I wore them this past weekend on a night out (where I sang terrible karaoke with my Bezzie) and not once did I complain about wearing heels or discomfort. I am making progress people! I can’t wait for the weather to cool down a bit more. Seriously hearing the words warming trend on the nightly news is the saddest thing in the world. I just can’t wait to wear my sweaters. I will never give up my love of sweaters. School is in session which means my cute purses get minimal use since I have to lug tons and tons of junk around with me on the daily so I LOVE giant tote bags. The one I’m currently using is similar to this one from Urban Outfitters.

ONE: H&M Superstretch Trousers TWO: Sam & Libby Ankle Booties THREE: Mango Shift Dress FOUR: Topshop Slouchy Sweater FIVE: Zara Short Coat SIX: Frye Harvey Tote Bag SEVEN: Modcloth Scouting Top EIGHT: Zara 3/4 Sleeve tee NINE: New Look Denim Jacket TEN: Gap Beanie

Friday Favorites: Black and White

First off I would like to apologize for the sporadic blog posts these last two weeks. I don’t entirely know why professors all wait for the same week to schedule their regular ordinary exams. It’s like they have some demonic meeting together to find out how maximize stress, minimize sleep, and increase the profit of Starbucks significantly during this time. But alas I survive and now have a bit of a lull for a Friday. (A strange feeling) So, I found some time for Friday Favorites.

My wardrobe is fairly monochrome and consists of mostly black and white with a tiny hint of color here and there. So, for FF I decided, with the help of my trusty Polyvore account (it’s easier to keep track of things I want to buy), I put together some things I wish I could add to my already black and white wardrobe.

White:  Topshop Zip Jumper / Acne Studios beanie / H&M V Neck Blouse / Graphic Tee / H&M Bow Blouse

Black: H&M Playsuit / Topshop Biker Jacket / Saint Laurent Letters Clutch / Sam & Libby Ankle Boots / Mango Selfie Sweatshirt

Friday Five: OOTD

Ah, I have returned from my hectic and crazy break. Truth be told, I spent some time roadtripping with my best friend to see a few One Direction shows in California and their epic show here in Phoenix. I can’t lie, and I’ve lost all chill, it was an amazing few days. I seriously wish I could finish out the rest of the American shows but you know, real life calls.

So for today’s Friday Five I’m sharing my favorite outfits over the past week. Many of which I wore to the shows. I honestly can’t believe it was 100 degrees one day rendering my sweet leather jacket no longer wearable. Ugh! The break was fun but now it’s time to get back on track. So (hopefully) enjoy the style inspiration. Sorry, I’m just really obsessed with my black jeans lately…

Hers/Mine: Trench Coat

Please forgive this hastily thrown together image. I just really became frustrated and that’s that. On to the more important things: The Everlane Swing Trench. I was perusing my Instagram feed just the other day when I saw Everlane had posted this photo and I thought to myself what a great outfit. Not to mention what a stylish and classic looking coat. So for the purposes of this post, I put together how I might wear this look. I absolutely used the basics for style inspiration but changed it a bit to cater more to myself. I can’t go without mentioning the new fall Essie line is out and I’m slightly obsessed with Dressed to Kilt which is why it’s also featured in this look alongside Fudge Urban’s Festival Pink hair chalk. Hair chalk is honestly the easiest way to achieve the pink ends featured on the model and the beauty is Fudge Urban’s hair chalks even work on darker colored hair. I know, that’s pretty great for those trying a no-commitment hair color change.

Shop the look: Everlane Navy swing trench, Paige Denim white button down, Topshop bleached moto jeans, Vans Lo-Pro sneakers, Marc Jacobs handbag, Fudge Urban hair chalks, Essie Dressed to Kilt

Oh, and before I forget, the blog is going to take a bit of a hiatus. It’s only a short time! Time to escape the crazy Arizona weather and head to sunny and blissfully comfortable Los Angeles for a few days! I’ll catch you on the flip side but as always you can follow my adventures on Instagram and Twitter! See you next week!

#OOTD: Rain, Rain Go Away

Today Phoenix broke it’s all time rain record and practically shut down the entire city. There were still daring people like myself who ventured out into the wet streets for necessity rather than entertainment, but that was few and far between. Eventually the sun came out, schools were closed, and I had to plan a whole new outfit of the day. So here’s some rainy day style inspiration.

ONE: Alexander Wang striped sweater TWO: Umbrella THREE: H&M skinny jeans FOUR: Forever 21 bag FIVE: Hunter tall wellies

Friday Favorites: OOTD

Today’s Friday Favorites is a bit different. It’s just a much cooler version of my actual OOTD. So rather than a Friday Five…errrrr nine I suppose, I’m just going to call it Friday Favorites. I’ve got some Celebrity Big Brother to catch up on…

ONE: Topshop tank top TWO: H&M bra THREE: Gold arrow ring FOUR: Zara girlfriend fit ripped jeans FIVE: Ray-Ban Cats 5000 sunnies SIX: Leyla Cemal icy ring SEVEN: Office sandals EIGHT: American Apparel L’Epicier leather tote NINE: American Apparel scrunchie

Back to Class: In My Bag

Anyone who knows me can tell you my handbag is a complete disaster. A million Starbucks straw wrappers, unnesessary recipts, movie ticket stubs, and a pleathora of spare coins. When a new semester starts and I switch from bag to bag I try to maintain a certain standard of cleanliness which ultimately a week later fails miserably. So this week for the final installment of Back to Class we are gonna take a look at the things I carry with my in my bag on the daily.

There’s loads of expected things: my keys, my computer, my phone charger, and of course, a snack. I literally have no break this semester. But then there’s the other things that make me super special. Just kidding. They are kind of essential to school life.
