Noteworthy 003

Music: I won’t lie, I’ve been listening to two things lately: 90s alternative radio on Pandora and Amnesia by 5 Seconds of Summer. There’s just something about Amnesia that makes me think of summer. Granted it’s clearly about unrequited love but I just can’t put my finger on why it makes me feel that way. Besides, the video makes me want to loiter outside gas stations.

Phone Cases: I realize throwing my phone into my car cup holder probably isn’t the wisest decision, but it happens far too often. My last case broke so I’m in the market for a new one. These are two of my favorite contenders unless I decide to go ahead and print my own design. ONE: Bobbies // TWO: WWA Tour

Dinner Tonight: It’s a bit stormy today and I would love to have soup. Sadly, it’s a summer storm so not chilly at all. Next best thing? A sandwich. This pastrami baguette looks absolutely delicious, doesn’t it?

Style Inspiration: All black is a pretty tough look to pull off round these parts, but I can’t wait till fall to try it. It’s simple and actually makes wearing 90% of my wardrobe easier, ha. See the way I would wear it below.

Coffee Talk: (SPOILERS) I love coffee. What? Shocking. That’s why I was so excited to find out Blueprint now makes a coffee drink! Blueprint makes amazing juices. The lemon is my favorite, but I can’t wait to try this. I never thought I needed a floating coffee mug but after seeing this I want one. The design is great. There’s no need for a coaster (which I rarely use anyway) so it saves precious pieces of furniture. And it effortlessly hold the weight of a half a gallon of water. Need I say more?

Sugar Rush: I think I found my new favorite fall food: Pumpkin S’more Doughnut Muffins. Yes, 3 different foods all in one and probably loads and loads of sugar. I was genuinely shocked when I saw the recipe for these, but I can’t wait to try them. Recipe: Pumpkin S’more Doughnut Muffins

Jump Into My Closet: A new day, two new items I want in my closet. This time it’s the H&M New York pullover and this Mango zip tote which is sold out.

Shop the look: Topshop Washed tee / Mango Quilted Bomber jacket / H&M Skinny High jeans / Mango Zip tote bag / ASOS Odobo cuff bracelet / ASOS Little Rock Pointed ballet flats

Coveting: For the Home

Every few months I become quite bored with the decor around my home. Some things need updating. Sometimes just annoy me so much they need to go. But this time I just feel like I could use some new things.

Storage is a big one. I can’t stand having messes just tossed about. I really need a place to store my vinyl records. They are currently just sitting in a stack on my floor. Probably the worst possible (and most disrespectful) place to store records, but that’s where they currently reside. I like this one above from Urban Outfitters despite probably not being the sturdiest idea. And yes, most things I own are black and white. Very simple to me. Very classic which means I can always move them about and come back to them when I’ve stashed them away. I would love to try adventurous, colorful prints, but it just doesn’t feel very me. I’ll just stick to my little pops of color.

One: Amy Poehler print by Note to Self  Two: Plaid Pillow at Crate and Barrel Three: Eames Aluminum Management Chair ) Four: IKEA Towel Rack Five: London Print Six: Storage boxes Seven: Peggy Chalkboard Eight: Corner Store Vinyl Record Rack at Urban Outfitters

Coveting: Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale

So much is happening today all at once, and I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed. That’s actually kind of an understatement. Rather than feel like I’m drowning I took a few minutes to listen to music and browse the Nordstrom anniversary sale. These are the things I would buy if I gave into some retail therapy. The browsing was quite relaxing actually. Here’s to hoping things calm down a bit though.

Coveting: Topshop

It’s fair to say I have a simple style. I’m a jeans and t-shirt girl through and through. I really do love a good sweater and have more clothes with stripes than I ever want to admit. That said sometimes I do wish I could be a bit more adventurous. It just never turns out that way even with my glorious best friend stylist who tries so hard to break my bad habits. So, as you can see after spending quite awhile browsing the Topshop website I picked some of the things I wish were in my closet right now. A faux leather jacket in Arizona, Nicole? Are you crazy? No. I understand the heat is coming which is frankly why I haven’t quite made the investment into a biker jacket just yet. Winter certainly wasn’t cold enough here for that. A girl can dream though can’t she? As for the Nirvana shirt, I can never have too many of those now can I?

Sadly, as a college student many of these things will stay on my wish list. Hey, Topshop, wanna help a girl out here?

coveting1Fall is technically here and that means time to start wishing and hoping for an entirely new wardrobe. I’m still all about the jumpers, but I thought I’d throw some pretty cool graphic tees in there for good measure. There’s something to be said about a good graphic tee except I’m not really sure what that is. I just know sometimes I like them.

I didn’t even know I wanted to make my mason jars into bento boxes until I saw this nifty Cuppow invention on Swiss Miss the other day. There’s only one thing really keeping me from ordering on ASAP: I’m really clumsy. I can just see myself dropping the jar, or just outright forgetting it’s in my bag, and glass shattering everywhere. Sure, it would take a lot to break a mason jar, but I’ve never met a glass container I haven’t broken. The rest are clothes (and a bag) I need in my fall wardrobe. Speaking of that, is it fall yet?
